Read 3rd Nephi 9:20 as Christ talks about the sacrifice that we need to make in our day: one of a broken heart and contrite spirit. Truly, God loves broken things. Christ asks us to be humble and broken because only then can He fix us. It is during those times when we feel unworthy, alone, or are enduring a trial, and thus are humbled and repent and take on a broken heart and contrite spirit--only THEN can He fix us; only THEN can He answer our prayer. What a blessing it is to sacrifice for our Savior--even though Brigham Young says there is no such thing as sacrifice. We can all work on observing our covenants through sacrifice (DC 97:8). It is our duty as members of Christs' church. As we make sacrifices they don't go in vain--the Lord notices each one and He will accept us through our sacrifices (DC132:50) and, dang it, He will just bless us again and we'll never be able to pay Him back. Let's always hold on to this principle of sacrifice and remember the powerful true statement in "Praise to the Man":
"Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven."
